Palazzo Pio

When in Rome I will be staying at the UW Rome Center, the Palazzo Pio, in Campo de' Fiori, built over the ruins of the Theatre of Pompey. Here it is:

Campo de' Fiori is an historic square near the Tiber river, walking distance from the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Home to an open and vibrant market every morning, the square is reported to have a popular nightlife, great food, shopping, and much more. However, the campo has a grisly history. During the 15th century the square was the site of public executions--in the center of Campo de' Fiori is a statute of Giordano Bruno, a philosopher who was burned to death at the stake.

Lovely information about the philosopher... :(
Oh, and your clock might be set on U.S. time because it is exactly the same time here as it says on your clock. Hmmmm.....
    Love, Emily :)
